This workshop is for anyone interested in the nature, creation and challenges in providing stage props for opera.
We will discuss why and how props for the Opera are their own beast
How Opera props are the same as all props for the stage, how they differ and how they affect the bottom line.
We will look at design challenges and solutions. The construction of opera furniture , FX and how the prop comes to life in the hand of a singing artist.
Props no opera should be with out! Fittings for props and some tried and true Opera Props.....you know like the HEAD of John the Baptizer.
